Insulating sunshields restrict overheating

Hughes Safety Showers of Stockport, England has introduced a new Emergency Tank Shower designed specifically for outdoor use in hot climates, the ideal solution for the harsh Gulf climate.

It has been developed in close co-operation with Saudi Aramco and is fully compliant with the company's engineering standard which outlines the design criteria for emergency safety showers and eyebaths.
A sun shield is fitted around the tank and lid to reduce the heating effect of the sun.
In addition, the tank is enclosed in high thermal resistance polyurethane insulation which includes a silver foil reflective coating.
These features ensure that the stored water remains within a safe temperature range, both day and night even during the summer months.
Showers of conventional design are likely to deliver water at temperatures in excess of 36.8 degrees, which is not only dangerous but renders the unit unusable for several months of the year.
Three models, with tank capacities of 350, 750 and 1200 litres, are available with galvanised mild steel or stainless steel frames.
Tank Showers are used where there is insufficient or inadequate water pressure or flow rate to the shower or where temperature controlled water is required.
The 1200 litre model can be used as a stand-alone unit and will provide the minimum 15 minute supply in accordance with the ANSI Standard, even when a water supply is unavailable or when it has been shut off.
The mid range and smaller units, when plumbed into an adequate mains water supply, are also fully capable of providing a constant water supply at a high flow rate.
