Finnish engineering group Metso Oyj said its automation solutions business unit Metso Automation will supply automated on-off ball valves to Qatari LNG plant constructor Chiyoda-Technip Middle East Joint Venture Inc (CTJV).
The contract is valued at $13.3 million and is the largest single valve order for Metso Automation. The valves will be used in an oil and gas project in Qatar where CTJV is the engineering, procurement and construction (EPC) contractor.
CTJV is a joint venture between Japanese engineering company Chiyoda Corp and French oil and gas company Technip SA.
Metso Automation focuses on automation and information management application networks and systems, field control technology and life cycle performance services. The unit has sales and customer support units in 34 countries and employs 3,400. Metso Automation generated net sales of $818.2 million in 2006.
