As one of Saudi Arabia's leading industrial maintenance firms, the Industry Services Company of Saudi Arabia (Iscosa) has a proven track record of providing mechanical and electrical field and workshop services in Saudi Arabia.

From Saudi Aramco to Sabic, the Sceco companies and the Royal Commission for Jubail and Yanbu, Iscosa's customer list is a who's who of the Kingdom's leading organisations.

Iscosa offers services including installation, commissioning and repair of mechanical and electrical rotating equipment, total plant predictive maintenance programmes, gas turbine hot gas path component repair, vibration analysis, power system studies, thermographic surveys, substation installation and upgrades, switchgear, MCC and breaker retrofit and shop repair of motors, transformers, turbines and generators.

Drawing on expertise and technical support from its parent company Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation, Iscosa has used its Operations and Maintenance expertise at Saudi Aramco's Rabigh refinery, while several Sabic affiliates have benefitted from Iscosa's knowhow in installation, diagnostics, testing and commissioning of electrical equipment and rotating machinery.

Preventive and predictive maintenance are crucial aspects to the business, while the company is a technological pioneer, as evidenced in its gas turbine hot gas path component repair services in the Kingdom, a first in the Middle East.

''Our greatest strength is our highly skilled and experienced workforce supporting our clients,'' said Iscosa marketing manager Andrew McAdam.

The company employs a total of approximately 400 staff, ranging from engineers, technicians, management and administrative support at repair facilities in Dammam and Yanbu and Mechanical/Electrical field services at various locations throughout the Gulf. Offices in Riyadh and Jeddah provide sales support.

Iscosa's history in Saudi Arabia dates back to 1973, when the company started operation of the Water Injection Pumping Station system at Saudi Aramco's Ghawar oil and gas field. By early 1974 a 48,000 sq ft shop in Dammam was in operation providing major and minor repair service on electrical and mechanical equipment, and this facility was expanded to its current 72,000 sq ft, making it one of the largest repair facilities of its kind in the Middle East.

Iscosa is a joint venture between Siemens Westinghouse Power Corporation (75 per cent) and Saudi Arabia's Abbar & Zainy (25 per cent).
