The King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture

THE King Abdulaziz Centre for World Culture is Saudi Aramco’s flagship cultural initiative.

The Centre will help Saudis connect their own culture to that of others around the world, serving as a catalyst for creativity and innovation.

The Centre is designed to become a beacon of knowledge, creativity and cross-cultural engagement in the kingdom.
It will offer a world-class museum, public library, historical archives, children’s educational centre, and conference and performance facilities.

Its iconic building continued to take shape in 2013 near Saudi Aramco’s headquarters in Dhahran.

In the meantime, Saudi Aramco hosted a series of landmark events, such as the Knowledge Forum conducted in partnership with Unesco, which invited international academics experts to discuss key issues at the heart of building a knowledge society and sustainable human development.

Saudi Aramco plays an important role in creating opportunities for Saudi Arabia. It is constantly seeking to enhance its positive impacts on the kingdom’s economy, its communities and young people, and its natural environment.

While supplying energy to the world is its core purpose, Aramco’s sense of civic duty and mission extends far beyond running a successful business.

Throughout its history Saudi Aramco have strived to operate with strong and consistent principles: treating employees and local communities with respect, carefully managing environmental impacts, and sharing the benefits of success— all with the intention of contributing to a prosperous future for Saudi Arabia and for the world at large.

This approach to citizenship has served as a driver of not just Aramco’s own success, but also the success of Saudi Arabia.

In many ways, Saudi Aramco’s business strategy is a citizenship strategy with long-term ambitions directly tied to positive outcomes for the company, the kingdom and the communities in which it operates.

In 2013, Saudi Aramco made significant progress on its citizenship strategy by sustaining economic growth and development, supporting productive and resilient communities, preparing for the knowledge economy, and enhancing the environmental sustainability of its business.

Saudi Aramco believes that its longterm success depends on being a good citizen everywhere the company or its affiliates do business.

As the company seeks to expand its portfolio and presence worldwide, Saudi Aramco is committed to external engagement efforts that benefit both Saudi Aramco and society as a whole.

Along with the activities noted below, its international contributions include donations to respected academic and cultural institutions, humanitarian organisations, environmental advocates, and many other respected partners that help it meet the challenges that Saudi Aramco is facing inside and outside the kingdom.
