Bassam Bamagous ... localisation focus

The new facility enhances APS’s local manufacturing capabilities, which now include chemical injection packages, process packages, and CNC machining works, Bassam Bamagous, APS CEO, tells OGN

Advanced Precision Industrial Services (APS), a frontrunner in engineering integrated solutions for the oil and gas, water and power, aerospace, defence, and petrochemical sectors, has announced a major expansion in its production capabilities.

This development underscores the company’s commitment to meeting the growing local and regional demand.

In alignment with Saudi Arabia’s Vision 2030, APS has unveiled a state-of-the-art production facility located in Dammam’s 3rd Industrial City. Covering an impressive 54,000 sq m, the new facility boasts advanced production bays for a range of processes including fabrication, CNC machining, painting, sandblasting, pickling and passivation, and hydrotesting.

Equipped with cutting-edge machinery, this facility is set to boost APS’s production capacity by nearly 500 per cent.

The expanded capabilities will enable the manufacture of 540 CIS skids, 6,000 tonnes of structural steel, 1,300 tonnes of tanks, and 330,000 diameter inches of piping annually.

According to Bassam Bamagous, APS CEO: 'Our expansion reflects the tremendous growth we have witnessed in the region.'

He tells OGN energy magazine: 'Being close to our customers, having the right capabilities to meet their evolving demands, and ensuring we have the best people in place to provide technical expertise are pivotal for supporting this growth.'

The new facility enhances APS’s local manufacturing capabilities, which now include chemical injection packages, process packages, and CNC machining works.

It also features six additional 9’COMs for the fabrication and integration of critical materials for both upstream and downstream applications.

Other capabilities include CIS skids, modular skids, filtration skids, piping spools, steel structures, pressure vessels, scraper traps, and shop-fabricated tanks.

Advanced CNC machines installed at the facility comprise laser cutters, CNC milling, CNC lathes, plasma cutting, vertical machine centers, and more.

In addition to its core manufacturing operations, APS has expanded its electrical business line through strategic partnerships with global entities.

The company now produces HVDC voltage source converters, LV panels, explosion-proof enclosures, disconnect and by-pass switches, polymer insulators, reactors, and overhead line components for the power sector.

Moreover, APS has made significant strides in the automation sector, offering base system design and integration services to enhance operational efficiency.

Founded in 2009, APS has steadily positioned itself as a leader in chemical injection package design and manufacturing.

APS CHEMICAL INJECTION SKIDS DELIVERED

APS has successfully manufactured and delivered a range of equipment for various clients. For Baker/Saudi Aramco, APS provided 85 variable speed drive (VSD) skids for onshore use at Khurais and Abu Hadriyah, 40 VSD skids for offshore use at Manifa and Berry, and an additional 21 VSD skids for onshore use at Khurais, with all items delivered.

Additionally, APS supplied 19 high-pressure CO2 gas purging systems and one CO2 purging skid to GE/Saudi Electric Company. Furthermore, 18 multi-phase flowmeters were delivered to Roxar (Emmerson).

APS has also efficiently managed the fabrication and delivery of various equipment for Saudi Aramco’s direct projects. The company delivered 63 packages of corrosion inhibitor injection skids for an onshore potential maintenance project, 10 packages of methanol injection skids for a gas wells project, and a single package of a slop injection pump skid for the Abu Ali Maintenance Unit.

Additionally, it completed the supply and installation of five chemical injection skids for the SAPD project and delivered six packages of surge relief valve skids for the Increased East-West Pipeline Capacity project.

Meanwhile, APS is currently progressing with 61 packages of corrosion inhibitor injection skids to maintain several potential projects with Aramco.

Furthermore, APS has effectively managed the fabrication and delivery of equipment for various EPC projects.

For Nasser Al Hajri Corporation, APS delivered one package of corrosion inhibitor injection skid for the Arabiyah Condensate Handling Facility WSBCL-Wasiti.

Imadco received a substantial delivery of piping spools measuring 9,550 diameter inches for the Berri plants, a Saudi Aramco project.

APS also provided 1,500 tonnes of structural steel for Powertech, completing the supply and fabrication pre-assembly as scheduled.

Ongoing projects include a package of phosphate skids for Petrojet's boiler installation for the Global Power Failure (GPF), three packages of corrosion inhibitor injection skids for IUC’s Aramco-JZN-JED-RBG bulk plants, one package of corrosion inhibitor skid for Enppi’s Juaymah Terminal Onshore Expansion Project, and one package of piping spools for FET’s Saudi Aramco project.

CONCLUSION

With a proven track record in delivering integrated package solutions, APS continues to focus on maximising customer value through precision and reliability.

As APS continues to grow and innovate, its new facility in Dammam marks a significant milestone in its commitment to excellence and regional development.
